Chess Olympiad 2026: India faces double challenge in Samarkand, Gukesh and Sindarov prepare for fateful match

Samarkand, the legendary city on the Silk Road, will become the center of the chess world in September 2026. The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has just announced the official schedule for the 46th Chess Olympiad, an event expected to create fiery confrontations between chess superpowers. The schedule set by FIDE includes 11 rounds under the Swiss system, taking place from September 15 to 26, 2026.
